Frozen Ever After Draws Large Crowds for Opening Day at Epcot (Photos, Video Including Queue & Attraction)
Today was the first day of the new attraction Frozen Ever After, set in the Norway pavilion in World Showcase. The ride replaces the former Maelstrom attraction, which closed in September, 2014. Notable is that the hours for Frozen Ever After begin at 9:00 a.m., as opposed to most of World Showcase (most pavilions open at 11:00 a.m.). Mexico is also following suit, opening early and both pavilions now offer a counter service breakfast menu.
More photos & a new video were added June 23rd.
Mako Hypercoaster at SeaWorld Orlando: Photos & POV Video as Attraction Readies for June 10th Opening
SeaWorld invited us out today to check out Mako, now the tallest, fastest, and longest coaster in Orlando! The hypercoaster officially opens tomorrow (June 10th, 2016) to guests. Mako is 200 feet tall and hits speeds of 73mph, but its the air time that was the biggest hit with everyone riding today (including media and members of American Coaster Enthusiasts). No matter how tight the restraint is, there are hills that will lift riders out of their seats. The coaster is named after the mako shark, which also helped bring about SeaWorld's partnership with conservationist Guy Harvey.
D-Luxe Burger opened to the public on May 15th, 2016 with the new Disney Springs Town Center. The beautifully designed restaurant offers up delicious and unique hamburgers, along with "twisted" milkshakes and fresh-cut french fries. For those on the Disney Dining Plan, D-Luxe Burger takes one Quick Service entitlement. And while this is a counter service location, it is anything but fast food - and I say that in the best way possible. It was well worth the extra 5+ minutes it took to receive our food over regular counter service locations at Walt Disney World. The food is fresh and mostly created in-house.
Sprinkles Cupcake ATM at Disney Springs: Review with Photos & Video at New Walt Disney World Location
We posted a full preview with lots of information about Sprinkles at Disney Springs (Walt Disney World) a few days back. The Sprinkles Cupcake ATM wasn't available at that time, but it was yesterday for the Town Center opening. I'd never used a Sprinkles Cupcake ATM before, so it was a lot of fun to be one of the first to try it at Disney Springs. Here is a look at it in photos and video, plus some information about whether or not you should use it or bypass and go inside the shop.
Sprinkles Cupcakes at Disney Springs: Photos, Video of Cupcakes, Ice Cream & Shop - Now Open at Walt Disney World!
Sprinkles at Disney Springs opened its 20th location at the Disney Springs Town Center area on Sunday, May 15th, 2016. We had the chance to preview it a couple of days earlier during a media preview, trying out some of the treats that Sprinkles is so famous for. While I have had Sprinkles cupcakes before, I hadn't realized that the ice cream is at least as delicious as the cupcakes. So make sure to save enough room or visit more than once per trip! (If you are going to Walt Disney World very soon, sign up for Sprinkles Perks to receive a free cupcake! Mine expires a month from sign-up date.) Just to say right off the bat, my favorite thing I learned today is that Sprinkles donates leftovers to the charity A Grateful Mind. So not only are guests receiving fresh cupcakes all day long, but each day cupcakes will be feeding others through a food pantry. I just love that.
Zootopia's Nick Wilde & Judy Hopps Debut in Move It! Shake It! Dance & Play It! at Magic Kingdom, Walt Disney World
Nick Wilde and Judy Hopps from Disney's Zootopia debuted today in the Move It! Shake It! Dance & Play It! street party at the Magic Kingdom. While I had the chance to meet them last month during a private event at Disney's Animal Kingdom park, this is their first public outing at Walt Disney World. I hope they eventually become meet and greet characters here as well, as they are beginning today at the Disneyland Resort. But it was nice to see them out for guests to enjoy at Walt Disney World!
Trail's End To Go at Disney's Fort Wilderness Campround Becomes "P & J's Southern Takeout" to Honor Longtime Cast Members; Menu Expands
This is our favorite time of year at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort as the campground gets ready for Halloween! Our article on Fort Wilderness Halloween decorations is here, but while we were there, we stopped by what used to be called Trail's End to Go and found that the name has very recently changed to P & J's Southern Takeout (honoring two longtime Cast Members). The menu has changed some as well, and recently strawberry shortcake was also added.
