Sunset Seasons Greetings Photos and Video: Tower of Terror Projection Show at Disney's Hollywood Studios Includes Fun Details
The new projection show Sunset Seasons Greetings will officially debut on November 9th, 2017 at Disney's Hollywood Studios. The short Disney Christmas themed vignettes use the Hollywood Tower Hotel/Tower of Terror as their canvas, just as Disneyland Paris began doing last year during Star Wars Season of the Force. We were able to view the new show last night at an Annual Passholder preview, and I think it's a great addition to the Studios for the holidays (though December 31st, 2017). And if you pay attention during each scene, you will find fun elements like Mickey and Minnie in shadow, the Pixar ball and Slinky Dog. There is also "snow" falling at times.
Here are some photos and video from last night.
Osborne Family Spectacle of Dancing Lights 2015 Photos & Video: 20th and Final Year to Enjoy This Holiday Tradition
The Osborne Family Spectacle of Dancing Lights soft opened last night in advance of the November 6th official kickoff date. We knew ahead of time that November 1st was planned for an early "sneak peek" (via the online Passholder newsletter), though it looked to be originally an Annual Passholder/Cast Member viewing for 5 days. Instead, the Osborne Lights display was available to all guests, including a few we spoke with who had never seen the lights and would never have if not for the early opening. After 2 months of Halloween, we were ready for some Christmas cheer! And as I'd expected from seeing decorations as they were installed, this year is better than ever. Many new details were added for guests to enjoy during the 20th and final year of the Osborne Lights.
I didn't take a photo of the Osborne cat. I have enough spoilers here, I didn't want to spoil anyone's fun finding it!
The last day for the Osborne Lights is scheduled for January 6th, 2016 (date extended).
We went to Disney's Hollywood Studios yesterday to check out the progress on the Osborne Family Spectacle of Dancing Lights as it enters its 20th and final year, and we also visited Minnie Mouse in her new Disney Junior location (article coming today). The Osborne Lights display is a Christmas night tradition for us, and I'm also really glad it is starting earlier than Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party this year. This is the first year in about 13 years that there will be Passholder previews, so we look forward to visiting several times early in the season.
One of our favorite details this year is the Muppets garland featuring Miss Piggy! Keep reading for more information.
We were invited to the Cast Member preview of The Osborne Spectacle of Dancing Lights at Disney's Hollywood Studios yesterday, thank you to Mark & John! With all of the holiday offerings kicking off this weekend, it'd have been a week or more until we made it over otherwise. Each year, there are small changes to the props - it's always fun to see what is different. And Glow With the Show ears were working with the lights!
Yesterday we took a walk around the Boardwalk to view this year's holiday displays before heading to the Osborne Lights for the evening. It was a gorgeous night, and we plan to head back to the resorts tomorrow for extensive photos and video! But for now, you can enjoy our Osborne Lights coverage!
