Christmas Decorations Arrive to Magic Kingdom 2014 Including Garland Replacement (100 Photos)

Hi everyone!

Christmas decorations now adorn the Magic Kingdom! There will be more tomorrow (we will add photos to the article Thursday), but Disney did a great job getting everything in place overnight. There have been a lot of questions about what would replace the garland, as the Maleficent dragon from Disney’s Festival of Fantasy Parade wouldn’t have been able to fit underneath. Now we know the answer! Here are 100 photos from today. And tomorrow we will be there for the first Christmas lighting that will include Anna, Elsa and Olaf.

The first sign of Christmas decorations at the Magic Kingdom was the wreaths on the tollbooths. We didn’t know that the park would be decorated until we saw them!

We are looking forward to Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party on Friday night. This is our 8th year covering the event on Mousesteps. Check out our 150 photos from the 2013 Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party!

Poinsettia plants make a festive frame for a photo.

The Mickey Mouse floral ornament still needs to fill in, but looked great considering it was only hours old!

Here was our first look at Town Square! The photos are mostly in order of how I took them, not in order of where you will find them in the Magic Kingdom (I didn’t have time tonight to switch 100 photos around).

We rode one of the Magic Kingdom cars, getting our first view of the new “garland” at the Magic Kingdom. Due to Disney’s Festival of Fantasy Parade, the former garland can’t be used (the Maleficent dragon is too big). Our social media accounts seem to be running 50/50 on whether guests like it or not. We will be seeing much more of the new wreath holders, including from the Main Street Train Station, lower in the article.

Cinderella Castle is ready for Anna and Elsa tomorrow, as the first tree lighting changes to a “Frozen” theme.

I really love the new vintage-look holiday merchandise this year!

The Christmas trees hold a variety of ornaments.

They also held placement ribbons (which we told the Cast Members about so they could remove them).

This ornament always fascinates me, it is so unusual.

Look at this view from the Main Street Train Station! Do you like the new wreaths?
