Carnival Sunshine Cruise Stateroom Tour #8212

Hi everyone!

We were invited for 2 nights on the Carnival Sunshine as it now makes it’s home in Port Canaveral. It was my first Carnival cruise and it exceeded almost all of my expectations! The Carnival Sunshine is the former Carnival Destiny in what was a $150 million dollar upgrade. The stateroom itself (room 8212) was well appointed with an earth tone decor.

I ended up fracturing my ankle at the beginning of the cruise, and spent more time in the room than anticipated. Everything was quite comfortable, and the hallway below (with the lovely island theme) was wider than expected. It made getting around in a wheelchair easy.

The stateroom was nicely sized for 2 of us, with a king size bed and a couch. It was great to have the verandah and window (which is all I’ve ever had on cruises so far). The bed can split into two twins, but it didn’t feel like two beds. There is a flat-screen television on the wall in front of the bed. We also had an internet package, and I’ve never had faster internet at sea!

There were two bathrobes in our closet to use during the cruise.

Carnival leaves the Funtimes guide each day. It gives a lot of great information on what is going on around the ship, including dining times at each restaurant. There aways seems to be something going on!

Beach towels are left in the room for use through the cruise.

The Carnival Sunshine guide is worth the read.

There was a couch in our room, I believe it also folded out if needed.

This was the first time I’d not had a split bathroom in a stateroom, but I surprisingly didn’t miss it. While I had to step up into the bathroom, our shower was easy to walk into with crutches. Shampoo and shower gel are on the wall, but I liked the basket that included Garnier shampoo/conditioner and Caress body wash better. Arm & Hammer toothpaste was also a nice addition.

Here is our video of our stateroom:

We found the stateroom in a great location to get to everything we needed on the ship! I would not hesitate to book a Carnival cruise, though I might upgrade to a Cloud 9 Spa Balcony Stateroom for a longer cruise.
