Brandon Kleyla and Tom Allsmiller to Sign “The Field Guide to Tiki Decorating” in Orlando on May 23rd, 2018

The new book “The Field Guide to Tiki Decorating” is now out, and authors Brandon Kleyla and artist Tom Allsmiller will be signing their book in Orlando on May 23rd, 2018 at the Aku Aku Tiki Bar! The event is from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. More information can be found on the Magical Tiki Meetup page. Aku Aku is located at 431 E Central Blvd, Orlando, FL 32801. Kleyla was the lead set decorator for Trader Sam’s locations on both coasts (information is in his bio below), and he posts so much about tiki culture on his social media accounts, especially on Instagram. Definitely check out his book and event, we will be out of town and will miss it just by a day.

Trader Brandon, aka Brandon Kleyla, was the decorator and writer for “Trader Sam’s Enchanted Tiki Bar™” and “Trader Sam’s Grog Grotto™.” He has been involved in the field of entertainment since he was seven. He began in local theater, moving on to television and feature films, ultimately landing in the world of themed entertainment. He has been involved with over fifty theme park projects but it’s his work in tiki that he is best known.

He is currently hard at work on his next top secret theme park project, as well as future volumes of The Field Guide to Tiki Decorating.

Typhoon Tommy, aka Tom Allsmiller, has been a scenic artist for over ten years having worked on all installments of the Wizarding World of Harry Potter™ worldwide, and numerous other projects in multiple theme parks. His deep dive into Tiki was when he and his father, Rich Allsmiller, were tasked with recreating the Dive Helmet from 20’000 Leagues Under the Sea for Trader Sam’s Grog Grotto™. He is currently hard at work on his next top secret theme park projects, as well as designing a new upcoming tiki bar in the Central Florida area.
