Book Review: “The Muppet Christmas Carol: The Illustrated Holiday Classic” is a Wonderful Companion to the Film

Hi everyone!

We were sent “The Muppet Christmas Carol: The Illustrated Holiday Classic” from Insight Editions to review. Although geared toward children, this 40-page book based on the holiday classic has been near the top of my wish list – I’m a huge fan of the movie. The book releases October 29th, 2019 and can be pre-ordered now. This is actually the book I have the most pre-orders of through links this year, which tells you how much everyone loves the Muppets and A Muppet Christmas Carol. Below you can see a few of the pages and how they are written and illustrated, along with my review.

The dust cover of the book is vibrant and features favorite characters from the film. Underneath, the cover is much more simple – a wreath with a crutch.

The book is narrated by the Great Gonzo as Charles Dickens with help from Rizzo (just as in the film), and is “based on the beloved film adaptation of the Charles Dickens holiday classic from director Brian Henson”.

The Muppet Christmas Carol: The Illustrated Holiday Classic“, In the Muppets’ version of the Dicken’s timeless tale, Ebenezer Scrooge, a bitter and mean old man, sees the error of his ways after meeting three strange ghosts – and a whole lot of Muppets – one Snowy Christmas eve. The book featuring all the Muppets is about spreading love and kindness.

The author is Brooke Vitale, who has written dozens of books and has edited hundreds. Luke Flowers is the talent behind the illustrations.

The Muppet Christmas Carol: The Illustrated Holiday Classic” is 9×11 inches and hardcover. It’s a must-have for any fan of The Muppets.
