MagicBands, “Frozen” Headline Pumpkin Decorating Display at Disney’s Boardwalk Resort

Hi everyone!

Every October 30th, we head out to the resorts to check out pumpkin displays. We had to wait on UPS yesterday, so we had a very late start – but we did make it to the Disney’s Boardwalk Resort, which has a great display with some very creative pumpkins! Some of our favorites are pictured here, along with a video of all the pumpkins lined up.

Cast Members create these displays, which guests vote on. A handful of resorts participate each year. For 2013, themes include MagicBands, Frozen, and several Pixar UP pumpkin sets!

An actual MagicBand box says “Happy Halloween”; the My Disney Experience logo is carved into the pumpkin; and MagicBands are carved from pumpkin pieces.

Olaf from Frozen is very popular this year too!

We are looking forward to Frozen! Anna and Elsa will be meeting soon at Epcot. We have video from their debut meet & greet appearance at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

This Pixar display includes Mike Wazowski, UP, Heimlich and Wall-E.

And after we enjoyed looking at the pumpkins, Jeff wanted a photo with a chair in the lobby (these chairs have always scared me!)

We can’t wait for the Fort Wilderness Halloween Golf Cart Parade today, and hope to see at least one more pumpkin display. We have been celebrating Halloween in the Orlando area for 2 months now, but most of my favorite events are happening this week – and in just a few days, Christmas kicks off!
