Disney Park and Resort Photo Updates

Disney Springs Views from Characters In Flight – Downtown Disney June 25, 2015

Hi everyone!

We used a Groupon on its final day today to ride Characters in Flight at Downtown Disney/Disney Springs. The view is always incredible from there of not only the construction, but park and area landmarks. Today we mostly are concentrating on the construction. And if you are planning a trip to Downtown Disney and haven’t been in a while, much of what you are seeing won’t effect your visit. There are walls up along Pleasure Island (and elsewhere), but don’t let it deter you. We enjoy our visits to Downtown Disney, especially as new restaurants and shops have been opening.

Signs for Disney Springs are popping up.

If you ever have a Groupon (or gift certificate) for Characters in Flight, I recommend not using it on the last day. We were probably pretty close to missing out today due to weather.

Here is our video from Characters in Flight, and then the article is below it.

The Adventurers Club is being demolished now, with The Edison taking its place. I used to visit The Adventurers Club and think it would have worked well with Disney Springs, but hopefully The Edison will too.

Jock Lindsay’s Hangar Bar is due to open this fall at Disney Springs. The boat that is outside has had the name covered – but not anymore (the name was given away in the concept art anyway). I have photos of that further down in the article.

There is a lot more work going on behind walls. The scope of the work always is surprising to me.

Last time we went up in Characters in Flight, The BOATHOUSE wasn’t quite open. Now it is busy serving steaks and seafood, and Vivoli Gelateria has opened across the way.

Spaceship Earth.

We’ve seen Characters in Flight from the Orlando Eye, and the other way around.

Here are a few more shots from the air, including Planet Hollywood. The exterior of the restaurant has seen better days, I am looking forward to it being redone.

Walking between those walls, it feels like so much is finished already.

Characters in Flight soars beyond The Adventurers Club.

A sign is up for Morimoto Asia.

It is hard to believe that the Hangar will not open until fall.

There was a covering over the name “Reggie” since the boat was added here.

The Hangar from the side.

The name Reggie was always in the concept art.

The Hangar is between Paradiso 37 and The BOATHOUSE.

Planet Hollywood concept art hangs in front of the restaurant.

Another piece of concept art.

And one more.

The map on the wall is very up-to-date.

Vivoli Gelato, Erwin Pearl, and other new shops have been added.

This is a view from the parking garage.

And one look toward the former Adventurers Club.

An elevated walkway is going up (well, it’s pretty much up) at Buena Vista Drive and Hotel Plaza Blvd.

We were traveling for much of last month, and so much changed in that time!
