The Disney Store online has a sale on Disneyland 60 merchandise through Sunday, July 31st - 60% off! It is a great deal as the celebration starts nearing an end. Merchandise can sell out anytime before then, there are 30 items currently listed at the beginning of the sale. Any purchase made through Mousesteps does help support us, thank you!
Just for one example, this Minnie Mouse Ear Hat (which is very nice, I have one stored away for a gift) is now $9.98, reg. $24.95. While supplies last!
The AbracadaBar at the Walt Disney World BoardWalk opened to guests yesterday afternoon. We were at Disney's Hollywood Studios when I saw a notification online that it'd be opening shortly, so we headed over to check out the newest themed bar at Walt Disney World. Nestled between Trattoria al Forno and the Flying Fish (still closed for refurbishment), the bar is on the small side, but makes a nice addition to the resort. There are no discounts taken here and we were told none were expected. The AbracadaBar is a more sedate experience than say, Trader Sam's - it almost has the feel as if the Hollywood Tower of Terror opened a bar. (Check out our coverage of Jock Lindsey's Hangar Bar at Disney Springs and Trader Sam's at Disney's Polynesian Village Resort). There is no food served at AbracadaBar, I hope that changes sometime. This location used to be Seashore Sweets.
Big River Grille & Brewing Works on Walt Disney World Boardwalk Turns 20 (Photos from Beer Tapping Party)
Big River Grille & Brewing Works on the Walt Disney World Boardwalk turned 20 last week, and the restaurant celebrated during one of its beer tapping parties. It was our first time visiting during a tapping party (they are held every couple of months or so). Big River Grille & Brewing Works is a microbrewery, and the beer tapped was Bourbon Oak English Barleywine.
Sassagoula Floatworks and Food Factory at Disney's Port Orleans French Quarter Being Refurbished; Food Court Moved to Former Bonfamille's Cafe' (Photos)
Sassagoula Floatworks and Food Factory closed about a week ago for refurbishment at the Port Orleans French Quarter, one of the moderate resorts at Walt Disney World. The temporary food court location is in the former Bonfamille's Cafe'. Bonfamille's closed over 15 years ago and has been used as a test kitchen and was open this past year for holiday meals. This location is much smaller than the food court, I definitely recommend visiting during off-hours. According to Andre at PortOrleans.org, Sassagoula Floatworks and Food Factory should reopen before Thanksgiving. Here is a look around the location, including menus. Guests can also head over to the Riverside Mill at Port Orleans Riverside, either by bus or via the path that connects the two resorts (about a 10 minute walk).
Disney's Fort Wilderness Campground Fourth of July Golf Cart Parade Brings Out Patriotic & Disney Themed Carts
It's been a number of years since we've been able to attend a Fourth of July Golf Cart Parade at Disney's Fort Wilderness Campground (we always make a point of it for Halloween and Christmas). It's fun to see what the campsite guests come up with for themes, and the Fourth of July parade was even bigger and more creative than we expected.
Coca-Cola Store at Disney Springs Opens: Store Offers Merchandise & Rooftop Beverage Bar (Including Beverly Ice Cream Float!)
The Coca-Cola Store opened at Disney Springs today. Modeled after a 1920s Coca-Cola bottling plant, there are three floors - two with merchandise, and then the rooftop beverage bar that features a variety of Coca-Cola products. The Coca-Cola polar bear will begin meeting in late July or early August, and alchoholic beverages will be available for purchase very soon in the afternoon/evenings (we were told next week).
Jock Lindsey's Hangar Bar made significant changes to its food menu that debuted yesterday (the drink menu is the same). We'd heard for a couple of months from Cast Members that there would be a lunch menu added - but that wasn't the case, it ended up being of an overhaul of many menu items. Here is a look at what is new. While for me, there are less items to choose from that I'd like, your mileage may vary. The service was, as usual, outstanding. You can read our original review of Jock Lindsey's Hangar Bar from last September on opening day.
