Universal Studios Orlando

CBS Early Show at Universal Studios

"The Early Show" taped at Universal this morning.  I'd mentioned it on the front page of the website, and Universal was able to get some groups (Girl Scouts, Give Kids the World, etc.) to help fill seats.  There was a nice crowd – enough so where I may have gone home and back to bed if I lived closer. 🙂  Guests included Katharine McPhee and the Blue Man Group – which just started shows at Universal Studios.

Universal needed everyone there by around 6:30.  I made it with a few minutes to spare.  What surprised me is how slow paced in many ways it is (like being on a movie set – I did work on one film for a month, and it wasn't too exciting!).  Many segments this morning were done in other areas, so you could sit for 5 or 6 minutes – or more – without really doing anything.  Then they would say "stand up and clap".  I didn't know what I was clapping for, but I did as told. 🙂   Later on – it moved much faster.  I am not really a fan of Katharine McPhee, but I did enjoy the Blue Man Group very much.

By the time I decided to sit, it was already pretty full.  I looked around, but ended up being pointed towards the front (along with other guests).  So I actually got a good seat, in the grass behind the first row.

This was actually my view for much of the seating part:

So getting any sort of photo was a matter of patience!  Though Harry Smith did come towards the crowd and mingled during some of the breaks.  VERY nice man.

Harry Smith (with one photo of Hannah Storm, both preparing for the next segment) came out again to the crowd  before resuming work:
