3/8 Tangled Section of Fantasyland Opens – Rapunzel Bathrooms, Tower, Waterfall

Hi everyone!

The Tangled area of the Magic Kingdom opened today, dubbed the “Rapunzel bathrooms” online – but this location is really so much more than that.

This new section of the park has a lot of great theming, and reminds me of the Snow White Wishing Well and Grotto at Disneyland in that it's an attraction by itself.

There isn’t  a ride, but we found it very enjoyable and relaxing  (especially before the big crowds arrived for the day). If there is any one downside, it is that the rest of the Fantasyland corridor needs to be brought up to these standards!

The bathrooms themselves are extremely well themed, I can’t think of any other restroom that matches it’s storyline so much. The men’s bathroom includes “wanted” posters of Flynn Rider and others, along with frying pans on the walls. The women’s room includes a guitar, paints, and murals on the ceilings. Even the baby area has something familiar from the film  – a hand-held mirror with a royal baby on it. And sunflowers are everywhere, outside and inside the bathrooms!

This location is both practical and beautiful. A waterfall flows from the Rapunzel tower, and a seating area offers a gorgeous view. There are “stumps” with electrical outlets, and supposedly there will be USB ports eventually. I overheard someone saying that charging supplies would be sold nearby. I can’t think of any lovelier area in the Magic Kingdom to bring lunch!

There is a Pascal hunt – 10 Pascals are located mostly in the stream area, a few are farther off. Actually, Jeff just reminded me that it's Pascal's friends here – but they all look like him to me!

Rapunzel is the most beloved Princess in my recent memory – while Merida and Princess Tiana are popular, I think you’d have to go back to Ariel and Belle to find a princess who has such a strong staying power (Jasmine would be up there too). I think this new Tangled location will be extremely popular with kids and adults, although it’d have been nice for a meet-and-greet here! I hope there are some surprise ones that pop up occasionally.

There is dedicated stroller parking nearby.

The Tangled tower can be seen from the Haunted Mansion, but trees are growing in – hopefully eventually they will create a better berm.

Here are photos from today!  The lanterns glow at night, and we do plan to go back to check that out soon.

There are some great pavement details, including Maximus horseshoe prints.

I loved looking for Pascal's friend, but I had to ask for help! There are 10 of them.

Heading to the bathrooms, there are "wanted" signs. And I love the horseshoe shape of the companion restroom sign!

I was asked for photos inside the bathrooms – fortunately it was early (and nobody was inside except others taking photos!) The ceilings have beautiful murals, including of sunflowers. There are bookshelfs with paints, a doll, a guitar, books and knick-knacks. And check out the "women" sign, with the Rapunzel hair. I actually just noticed that! In the sunlight, it's harder to see.
