Mousesteps Weekly #217: Rivers of Light Preview w/Tips; Epcot Flower & Garden Festival; Paddlefish Review
Hi everyone!
In Mousesteps Weekly show #217, we talk about the new Rivers of Light show at Disney’s Animal Kingdom park – including footage from a soft opening preview we attended, along with sharing tips. Other topics we talk about include the first blooms of the Epcot Flower & Garden Festival 2017, and a review of the Disney Springs Paddlefish restaurant. In Mousesteps Weekly #217, we talk about the following topics:
Rivers of Light at Disney’s Animal Kingdom park soft opened in advance of its February 17th, 2017 scheduled opening date. We were there for the first preview day. The first stop we make is to look at the merchandise, there is quite a bit of it – shirts, a pin, towel, magnet, blanket and more.
Next, we show how it is to enter the theater and talk about the beautiful lighting that precedes the show. Rivers of Light includes animal imagery, colorful floats, fountains, fire and more. There are dining packages and we discuss that as well.
Next, we head to Epcot. The Epcot Flower and Garden Festival is beginning to take shape even as the Festival of the Arts is in its second to last weekend. The beautiful flower quilt has been planted along the Imagination walkway. We find Eeyore and other characters meeting in a “surprise meet and greet” in the America location.
We next head to Paddlefish at Disney Springs, both for a media event and then with friends for brunch. We tried quite a few items and talk about both the food and show the expansive views around the restaurant. Paddlefish used to be Fulton’s Crab House, and before that the Empress Lilly. Paddlefish is very much a seafood restaurant, with some items for non-seafood eaters as well.
Last, we talk about the Happily Ever After show coming to the Magic Kingdom, replacing Wishes in May.
