Old Town Celebrates 25th Anniversary of Saturday Nite Classic Car Cruises on June 6th, 2015

Hi everyone!

Old Town in Kissimmee is celebrating the 25th anniversary of its Saturday Nite Classic Car Cruise today! We had the opportunity to get a first look at a couple of the cars yesterday. There will be entertainment all day today, and one individual will be crowned the 500,000th driver to participate in the cruise (half a million is quite impressive!) There will be more than ten thousand dollars in prizes raffled off to the public as well. The actual Car Cruise will begin at 8:30 p.m., with the 500,000th car and cruiser to be honored immediately afterwards.

Old Town offers weekly Cruise Nights – information is posted at Old Town and online. About the 25th Anniversary, General Manager of Old Town USA Chris Spicer said,

“We are extremely excited to celebrate the 25th Anniversary of the Saturday Nite Classic Car Cruise. The owners of these beautiful classic cars have dedicated their time and efforts into making this historic event possible each and every week and we couldn’t do it without them. With an anticipated attendance of more 600 classic cars, many valued at $100,000 each, we will easily see more 30 million dollars on display here at Old Town.”

We took a look at just two of the hundreds of cars that are on display today. There have been more than 1300 Saturday Nite cruises since the event began in 1990!

While we were at Old Town to look at the cars, we had a surprise visit to the Legends A Haunting at Old Town. I rarely go to haunted houses and tried to bow out, but ended up screaming my way through. This year-round haunted house is actually VERY well done, and is much bigger than I thought. There are two levels to the house, it isn’t one that you can run through. If you visit, expect this to be about a 15 minute experience. There are rooms you will stop in, which makes it even more nerve-wracking! No photos or video are allowed inside. You can find days and hours of operation here, along with a FAQ.

Right after being scared at Legends A Haunting at Old Town, our group stopped by to see magician Remy Connor – who called me up to check out the hammer that he was going to use to pound a nail into his face with. You never know what type of entertainment you might find at Old Town during the cruises – but today, there will be bands, stilt walkers, face painters and more.

Connor also shared a few other tricks, including putting fire into his mouth.

And we enjoyed lunch at A&W, which is well suited for Old Town. The ice cream here is good, too!

Stop by Old Town today and check out all the fun – or in the future! While there, we also recommend a visit to Chocolate Kingdom and Fun Spot.
