WINTER HAVEN, Fla. (June, 17, 2013) – LEGOLAND Florida’s Buddy’s Brick Bunch child ambassadors christened Sunday, June 16, the main component of The World of Chima water ride. The celebration took place as the first watercraft vehicle was introduced into the immersive family attraction, The Quest for CHI. The Quest for CHI will be one of three new attractions at LEGOLAND Florida when The World of Chima (pronounced Chee-mah) grand opens July 3.
In addition to participating in the christening, the ambassadors were also given a hands-on educational tour of the construction site; they sprayed concrete on the entrance structure helping give shape to the engineered stone gateway, then painted the stone-look surface.
When it opens July 3, 2013, The World of Chima will be the only place in the world that will immerse fans in the newly launched LEGO Legends of Chima storyline. At The Quest for Chi, guests will enter a temple to board an interactive family water ride and battle with water cannons in a quest for the energy source, CHI. Outside of the main attraction guests will be able race handheld ripcord vehicles at Speedorz Arena. Families will be further immersed in the story with the chance to meet characters Laval the Lion Prince and Cragger the Crocodile King, splash and play in Cragger’s Swamp play area and experience a 4-D Chima movie.
