Disney's Art of Animation Resort

Lion King Section Photo Tour, Disney’s Art of Animation Resort – Mufasa, Scar, Rafiki, Simba

This is my third photo tour at Disney's Art of Animation Resort! The Lion King section opens to the public on Friday, after a series of test stays by Cast Members from the Disney Reservation Center. After the Lion King opens, it is just another month until the Little Mermaid section completes the resort!

I will have a timed photo walk of the entire resort after it is open, in order from Cars to the Little Mermaid! And check out our video tour of this new section!

The Lion King wings hold the last all-suite guest buildings to open at Disney's Art of Animation Resort. The Little Mermaid buildings will be standard rooms which sleep 4 (and an infant under 3). For a quote and the best price available at Disney's Art of Animation Resort, I recommend Fairy Godmother Travel! They have a lot of knowledge of the resort (as they do the remainder of Walt Disney World, Disneyland, the Disney Cruise Line, and Adventures by Disney).

I took a few photos on the way from the parking lot, of Simba and Mufasa on one of the buildings. There are two in the Lion King section.

A directional sign and directory are in front of the Lion King section, which is just a minute or so away from Animation Hall. This is a great location for guest rooms, in between the Finding Nemo and Little Mermaid pools (once Little Mermaid opens next month), and a quick walk to Animation Hall.

Rafiki stands at the front of the section, seeming to welcome guests as they arrive. And just as guests have been on top of the character from Cars, we saw an adult guest partially mounting Rafiki today. There are signs saying "No Climbing" elsewhere, but not here…yet. I did laugh when one little girl saw Rafiki and yelled "Stitch"!

There are a variety of animal silhouettes on the buildings:

Mufasa is the next character you'll see:

Next up are Timon, Pumba and Simba. I would think there will be grubs eventually in Timon's hand, which is raised:
