Disney Park and Resort Photo Updates

7/20 Spaceship Earth/Contemporary Construction

I stopped at Disney today – to follow up with the Fort Wilderness Segway tour guides, and to get some Spaceship Earth and Contemporary photos.  The Spaceship Earth and Contemporary photos follow.

The wand is coming down so much faster than I expected!   Someone I know sent me some photos of the letters coming down while I was in California last week – I'm looking forward to seeing the plain sphere very soon.

I took a second ride around the monorail also, to get the photos of the star on the ground (easily viewable from up above):

The portion of the Contemporary lobby that I photographed a couple of weeks ago is nearly done.   I was told that all the revolving doors will be gone, that they will have double sliding doors instead.

There are now artist renderings in the lobby of what the refurbishment will look like:

The lobby should be done by November (I was told a couple of weeks ago that it would be by the end of summer, but today I spoke with a manager).   The area that is now walled off should be unveiled soon, and then a new section will be worked on.  The coffee bar will be moving near the entrance.

And construction photos:
