Yak and Yeti Opening Day
I just wanted to say thank you to LaurieP from RADP, she treated me to lunch. 🙂
I did have an appetizer, the house salad with sesame dressing $5.99). The greens were fresh, the dressing was VERY thick (but tasty!) For a beverage, I chose the mango unsweetened ice tea. Perfect!
Laurie is a vegetarian, and there were only two choices they could give her. Stir fried vegetables, or lo-mein. She chose the first. The vegetables were crisp and tasty, and it also came with a side of brown rice.
I was leaning towards the beef and broccoli, but ended up going with the maple tamarind chicken ($17.99). I really expected Yak and Yeti to feature some Indian dishes, I'm disappointed that the restaurant has none. Especially with the location in the park, and the Indian influence! That said, my chicken was excellent. I was a little concerned that there would be a thick sauce on the meat, but that wasn't the case. It was very good, as was my coconut-ginger rice. I also had Bok Choy for the first time, that was a nice addition to the meal.
I look happy here, but I was VERY excited about who I saw upstairs later. 🙂
The restaurant is amazing, there was a LOT of money put into it – real artifacts, it's like an attraction until itself. I have never found Animal Kingdom to be a half day park, and part of the reason is because I like to stop and look at everything. 🙂 I would have spent more time in the restaurant today, except I spent 11 hours at WDW yesterday!
