I was at the Magic Kingdom on Friday to be part of this years Christmas special, mostly to take photos for the site. I've been once before, but I find the taping to be a lot more fun when you have someone else with you (since sometimes it's standing around for up to an hour with nothing going on).
Thank you to everyone who has helped support Mousesteps this year, whether by Amazon.com , or through purchases from the wonderful JeffLangeDVD.com site (the best in theme park DVD's) and Orlando Fun Tickets.
The first day this year kicked off with Yanni and Yanni Voices taking the stage for "O Holy Night", followed by Kris Allen singing "Rocking Around the Christmas Tree". Nick Cannon is the "man on the street".
Guests with tickets were told to go into one entrance (tickets were free and allowed admission into the park), and then we were led down the street to the taping:
The castle was set up for the first guest, Yanni:
The 3:00 parade was at 5:00, and signs were out to tell about the parade taping:
Where Kris Allen was going to be singing, Walt and Mickey were nowhere to be found. I had heard they were being removed, but we figured the presents were covering them. It seemed very odd not to have Walt and Mickey there:

Disney performer Billy Flanegan revs up the crowd while everything is set in place:
