February 10th – 11th “Give a Day, Get a Disney Day” Media Presentations

I haven't always liked the different promotions that Disney has had, but I think the volunteering aspect of "Give a Day, Get a Disney Day" is terrific.   The second day started out with an unveiling of the largest can sculpture on record, with over 115,000 cans that were then donated to food banks.  The Jammitors opened the presentation, we have video here!

Ambassador Clay Shoemaker joined Kermit the Frog and Sweetums on stage to introduce the Chairman of the Walt Disney World Parks and Resorts, Tom Staggs.  We have video of that portion of the presentation here!

I stopped taping to also take some photos after the balloons revealed the sculpture.  I thought it was very interesting how the cans were put together to create the Disney characters, and tea, marshmallows and pasta are also visible.  We were told that the items were donated by stores such as Publix as well as a variety of manufacturers. I noticed a lot of Kirkland cans, which is Costco's signature brand.  We also took photos of Ty Pennington and other speakers as they posed with Kermit and the Disney characters.
