The Little Mermaid section of Disney's Art of Animation Resort is now open! We have covered Disney's Art of Animation from the beginning of construction, to the Grand Opening, and have now stayed in each area for its opening night. This is a photo tour of the Little Mermaid section (we have all three other areas posted already), and I do plan an entire photo walk of the resort in the near future.
When I post the photo walk, it will be a timed walk of the entire resort with photos from one end of the resort to the other. Those who have seen my other photo walks know how that works!
And for those who have asked, my favorite section of Disney's Art of Animation Resort is Cars. The suite is subdued, suitable for an adults-only visit or for families. The outside area is spectacular, but I think all of the resort exteriors are pretty wonderful. My least favorite room type is the Nemo suite, which feels like it's very much geared towards kids.
The Little Mermaid section of Disney's Art of Animation Resort features standard rooms. These are the only standard rooms at the resort, which boasts three sections of family suites (Cars, Nemo and Lion King themed). If you need help figuring out which section to stay at, visit our site sponsor Fairy Godmother Travel (they are very knowledgeable about Disney Resort and can assist with your trip)! Just let them know that Mousesteps sent you!
Walking toward the Little Mermaid section, you see bent palms (not in the first photo) and foliage that looks sea-like. You can see our full video tour of this area of the resort!
We watched as a little girl broke into a run and yelled "a dinglehopper, a dinglehopper!" It was really cute! There are signs everywhere that say "no climbing", but we've seen guests go pretty much everywhere – including inside Sebastian's shell.
A treasure chest:
