MagicBands Now For Sale at the Magic Kingdom
Hi everyone!
We made a quick run into the Magic Kingdom yesterday for haircuts at the Harmony Barbershop, and stopped by the Main Street Emporium to check out the selection of MagicBands that went on sale Monday.
Jeff and I first started testing MagicBands just over 8 months ago, and our coverage has been read and seen by hundreds of thousands of visitors. We don’t use the bands so much anymore, but Fastpass+ has been a really great way to visit attractions in the park. If you are staying at a Walt Disney World resort, you will get MagicBands included with your stay. And Fastpass+ is very convenient for resort guests. It allows guests to sleep in, enjoy a leisurely resort breakfast, or do anything except run to the parks first thing in the morning to secure a popular Fastpass. I was skeptical at first, but Fastpass+ allows for a lot more freedom during a vacation – it’s also great for us. We have enjoyed Festival of Fantasy parade viewing without having to wait long, and have visited attractions we otherwise wouldn’t have due to lines.
Back to MagicBands. I have found that a lot of friends actually want different colors of MagicBands, or just to have a spare. MagicBands sold at the Emporium for $12.95 do not include personalization, and purple still isn’t in the mix. Merchandise discounts, such as for Annual Passholders, do apply. There is a tiny brochure handed out about the MagicBands, showing how to link them to ticket media. And if guests are staying at a Walt Disney World Resort, these MagicBands can be linked for use with hotel room doors and purchasing merchandise.
One important note: Guests do not need MagicBands to use Fastpass+. We use our Annual Passes to enter the park and Fastpass+ attractions.
