Epcot Celebrates the FIFA World Cup with Merchandise, Soccer Goofy Topiary and Viewing at the Odyssey

The FIFA World Cup begins on June 12th in Brazil, and Epcot is celebrating too! The Soccer Goofy and Donald topiary display is still in bloom between Future World and World Showcase, held over from the Epcot Flower and Garden Festival. Guests can also find unique Disney soccer merchandise, and the Odyssey will be open to watch the event (with grab-and-go food offered).

Soccer Goofy and Donald were a popular addition to the Epcot Flower and Garden Festival this year, and guests can still get their pictures taken in the goal!

This photo spot sign was not there when the topiary display went up, and guests can use the hashtag #DisneyGoal to share their photos.

The Sportsman’s Shoppe at Epcot has focused less on sports, and more on Doctor Who over the past year. But at least for now, the Doctor Who merchandise has been moved, and soccer has taken over much of the store. Plus, guests can find an endcap of toys from the film Brave (very random!)

The merchandise should prove to be popular, with Mickey kicking a soccer ball that looks like Spaceship Earth! The merchandise says “Epcot World Showcase”, and features the flags of the different countries in World Showcase. The shirts come in different styles and colors.

There are cups, mugs and shot glasses.

Shirts do include child sizes.

There is a long sleeve shirt and sweatshirt.

The Sportsman’s Shoppe didn’t surprise us, but the Duffy Store did. Duffy bears were replaced with soccer merchandise as well! These items are from around World Showcase. Many countries carry sports merchandise all year round, including Germany and Italy.

Some items here were different from the Sportsman’s Shoppe, including the green shirt and tank tops.

The green and blue are Brazil flag colors, I really like the light green shirt with Mickey on it. There is also another sweatshirt here, along with other merchandise.

This is a larger, heavy duty beer-mug type glass.

And a pin with Mickey kicking a soccer ball is available.
