Mousesteps Weekly #106 Covers Disney’s Fort Wilderness Campground Including Trail’s End, Wagon Ride, Calliope, Campfire Program and More!

Hi everyone!

Mousesteps Weekly #106 is up, and we talk all about Disney’s Fort Wilderness Campground during our stay in a Moore Camping Rental RV. We had a great time!

We spent a week at Fort Wilderness, enjoying Trail’s End, a wagon ride, the campfire program and so much more! We talk about much of the experience on our show, and show notes are below the video (along with a few more Fort Wilderness videos). We are not new to Disney’s Fort Wilderness Campground, Jeff started visiting in the 1970’s and I became a regular in the 1990’s. There is so much history at Fort Wilderness, including the 1907 calliope, which was used in the Mickey Mouse Club Circus!

Here are the show notes:

In Mousesteps Weekly #106, we talk about our stay at the Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground. Thank you to Moore Camping Rentals for providing the RV for us to enjoy for our stay! We did pay for the campsite.

We begin with footage of the RV, then take a ride around Quail Trail and on to the Settlement and Crockett’s Tavern. Crockett’s Tavern is attached to Trail’s End, with a keel boat model and other memorabilia. We stay in the Settlement for a look outside and inside the Trading Post, including some Fort Wilderness merchandise.

After a look at the beach, we check out the calliope in the Tri-Circle D Ranch. It has a lot of history, including being used for the Mickey Mouse Club Circus! There is a lot of great history on display.

The Meadows pool complex includes a slide with a barrel that used to be at the entrance to River Country.

We head to the River Country location, where the ticket booth remains. Viewable from a public area, some of the slides are still easy to see. Jeff shows what they look now, and how they looked previously when River Country was open.

We head to Trail’s End for breakfast, dinner and takeout – all are terrific deals, and this is one of our favorite restaurants on Walt Disney property.
The campfire and movie program with Chip & Dale has been around for a very long time, and has never lost popularity. “Frozen” night brought out more guests than we’ve ever seen for an evening here!

We took a walk down the nature trail to Disney’s Wilderness Lodge, which is one of our favorite areas to walk. We see some deer and baby armadillos. Following the walk, we head back to Fort Wilderness for a wagon ride, before ending our evening watching the Electrical Water Pageant and Wishes fireworks.
