Looking Forward to Seuss at Sea, Other Family Offerings on the Carnival Freedom
Hi everyone!
Last Spring, we dipped our toes into a quick 2 night Carnival Sunshine media cruise. Unfortunately I broke my ankle on that trip, but I was so impressed by the ship that I knew we’d want to book another eventually. It took just a few months to get my walking up to speed, but our schedule didn’t allow enough time for another Carnival cruise in 2014. Over the past few weeks, we’ve worked with Carnival to choose the ship we felt our readers and viewers would be most interested in seeing coverage on – the Carnival Freedom.
During our cruise last year, we were told about the upcoming additions to a variety of Carnival ships. Guy’s Burger Joint had just been added to the Carnival Sunshine, the restaurant offers the best counter service burgers that we’ve had at sea. We are looking forward to enjoying Guy’s again (and again!), as well as returning to the BlueIguana Cantina for tacos and burritos.
The one aspect of the Carnival Freedom that we were very interested in is the Dr. Seuss additions that include the Green Eggs & Ham Breakfast and a dedicated Dr. Seuss Bookville venue. Carnival has really been upping the family activities, and partnering with Dr. Seuss has been one way that Carnival lets families enjoy the cruise together. While we don’t have children, I am a lifelong Dr. Seuss fan and can’t wait to experience the offerings in person.
The Carnival Freedom will soon be calling Galveston, Texas home, but we are looking forward to sailing before it leaves Florida! The photos below are all from Carnival, but we will have plenty of photos and video to share soon.
The Green Eggs and Ham Breakfast with Cat in the Hat and Friends costs just $5.00 per guest upcharge, which is a terrific deal for a character meal! While Carnival is covering our cruise, this is one of a number of components we are paying for ourselves. There are a very limited number of seatings for the breakfast, so book it as soon as possible.
Carnival says of Dr. Seuss Bookville, that it is “a dedicated Seuss-themed play space featuring iconic decor, colors, shapes and funky furniture inspired by the whimsical world of Dr. Seuss. The perfect place for families to relax and unwind, guests can read beloved Dr. Seuss books or stretch their imagination through family-fun activities such as arts and crafts, toys and Dr. Seuss-inspired games.”
Next door, Camp Ocean allows kids ages 2-11 to engage in marine inspired activities!
We are also looking forward to Hasbro, The Game Show, and other activities on the Carnival Freedom.
We will have articles, videos, as well as a large part of one of our Mousesteps Weekly YouTube shows dedicated to the Carnival Freedom in the upcoming month! There is so much to experience on the ship from dining to activities that I expect we will keep very busy. Thank you to Carnival for offering us this opportunity to share this with our readers and viewers.
