Disney-Pixar “Inside Out” Concept Art Display Opens at Disney’s Hollywood Studios

Hi everyone!

There is a new concept art display at Disney’s Hollywood Studios with the art of Disney-Pixar’s Inside Out. Since 2009, we’ve brought you most of the displays, beginning with Disney-Pixar’s UP. I expect this film to be another winner for Pixar, it looks fantastic so far. We have nearly 100 photos here, which includes most of the concept art posted – plus a video!

The display is inside The Magic of Disney Animation, which is next to the Disney Junior Live on Stage! building.

The new display is noted outside (sometimes it takes a while for this to be changed).

The Production Gallery now has three display cases, along with some artwork from the film. That is less than it used to be, but still fits quite a bit of art. Not only is there animation in various forms, but maquettes from the film.

The official Inside Out description from Disney is: Growing up can be a bumpy road, and it’s no exception for Riley, who is uprooted from her Midwest life when her father starts a new job in San Francisco. Like all of us, Riley is guided by her emotions – Joy (Amy Poehler), Fear (Bill Hader), Anger (Lewis Black), Disgust (Mindy Kaling) and Sadness (Phyllis Smith). The emotions live in Headquarters, the control center inside Riley’s mind, where they help advise her through everyday life. As Riley and her emotions struggle to adjust to a new life in San Francisco, turmoil ensues in Headquarters. Although Joy, Riley’s main and most important emotion, tries to keep things positive, the emotions conflict on how best to navigate a new city, house and school.

Here is our video, followed by photos.

This is a look at the artwork of Disney-Pixar Inside Out, beginning with Anger. It says that, “Anger tries to keep his cool. Fighting the good fight, organizing tantrums for important causes such as “car seat liberation”, “nap eradication”, and “more cookies”. Someone’s got to do it.”

I don’t know what much of the artwork is, since we’ve not yet seen the film. Of course, there are the characters of Fear, Disgust, Anger, Sadness and Joy.  Enjoy the artwork, I look forward to seeing what it all means!

We spoke with Phyllis Smith at the Disney D23 Expo in 2013 about her role as Sadness (more artwork is below the video!)

This movie poster is located in the hallway.

There is also another room which always offers more artwork from the film in the production gallery. Here are some props and artwork from that room.

A little memento from Planes 2 in the room.

Here is a look at the Disney-Pixar Inside Out Emotion Garden that is at the Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival.

Disney-Pixar Inside Out opens in theaters on June 19th.
