Mousesteps Weekly #148: Disneyland’s 60th, Including Paint the Night Parade; Disneyland Forever Fireworks; Matterhorn; Hatbox Ghost, Tips!

Hi everyone!

Mousesteps Weekly #148 is out, and it is all about Disneyland’s 60th! We aren’t yet showcasing Disney California Adventure, but staying within the Disneyland park. There is so much to see there this summer, including the Paint the Night parade; Disneyland Forever fireworks; Hatbox Ghost in the Haunted Mansion and the updated Matterhorn! Next week, we will talk about the World of Color and more. Watch the show and then read the show notes below it. I embedded some of our videos as well, in case you haven’t seen them – but we have much more in our Disneyland 60th playlist!

In Mousesteps Weekly #148, we talk about Disneyland Resort’s 60th featuring Disneyland Park (part 2 featuring Disney California Adventure coming next week).

We start with the 24 Hour Party that kicked off the 60th anniversary. Characters including Chip & Dale, Donald, Mickey & Daisy were out in their new Diamond Anniversary outfits. We left for the afternoon and came back in the evening, eventually making it back into Disneyland just after 2:00 a.m. The Toontown Pajama Party was in full swing, with Disney characters in their sleeping attire – but none seemed sleepy! We ended our day with a sunrise over Sleeping Beauty Castle.

We make a stop at the Haunted Mansion to check out the new Hatbox Ghost! We were stopped in front of it for a couple of minutes, which allowed for us to photograph the new addition closely.

The Matterhorn Bobsleds now have an upgraded Abominable Snowman/Yeti, and new scenes and effects. The ride is the same – still very bumpy!

Roger Rabbit was meeting with other characters during the Springtime Roundup at Big Thunder Ranch. It was nice seeing him again.

Our favorite aspect of the new 60th offerings is the “Paint the Night” parade. It is absolutely spectacular, and features Tinker Bell, Mack the truck from “Cars”, a tribute to the Main Street Electrical Parade, and an infectious soundtrack with many characters, performers and floats. It is NOT to be missed!

“Disneyland Forever” is the new fireworks show, which brings projections out to Main Street. This is the best fireworks show we have ever seen at Disneyland, though it is more movie themed than Disneyland themed.

We will have much more from the Disneyland Resort in our next Mousesteps Weekly show.
