Gaylord Palms Resort Announces “A Charlie Brown Christmas” Theme for ICE! 2016 Season (Plus Much More)
Hi everyone!
One of the highlights for us each year is the announcement for ICE! at the Gaylord Palms Resort. This is an event that is an annual tradition, and Gaylord Palms keeps adding so much to do, that it is easy to make a full day of it at the resort (or a full weekend). ICE! this year will be held from November 18th, 2016 – January 1st, 2017 and will be themed to A Charlie Brown Christmas. I’m really excited for this one! Other highlights include Cirque Dreams UnWrapped and Breakfast with Charlie Brown & Friends (the latter is held on select mornings). Keep reading for more information, including photos and video of the announcement yesterday.
Upon arrival to the Gaylord Palms Resort, there was a banner on the fence promoting the upcoming ICE! exhibit, as well as Goblins and Giggles for Halloween and the Aquadrop and Flowrider additions coming to the Cypress Springs Water Park this year.
For the announcement, Snowflake the elf hosted.
Mrs. Claus arrived and led everyone in a Christmas carol.
The big announcement for ICE! was the theme of A Charlie Brown Christmas. Charlie Brown and Snoopy were brought out on stage.
Snoopy, Charlie Brown, Snowflake and Mrs. Claus help announce not only the ICE! theme, but also the Breakfast with Charlie Brown and Friends. For other activities including the Elf on the Shelf Scavenger Hunt, Alpine Rush Snow Tubing, Gingerbread Decorating Corner, the new Santa’s Snow Throw and more, check out the official Gaylord Palms website.
Here is one photo of what A Charlie Brown Christmas should look like when completed, with Snoopy on his doghouse.

Cirque Dreams UnWrapped will be back for another year, and creator Neil Goldberg was on hand to talk about the show and he brought two performers with him.
The two talented performers from Cirque Dreams Unwrapped shared some of the moves that will be part of the show.
Guests at the resort (including those attending ICE!) will be able to enjoy the 25 minute Cirque Dreams UnWrapped as part of their visit. There are also paid VIP seats for those who want a guaranteed seat.
Here is one more look. This performance did not include their costumes (the male performer will be playing Santa Claus).
This is our video of the preview.

Their work wasn’t done, as they continued to pose for photos with Snoopy and Charlie Brown.
We jumped in for a photo.
Cirque Dreams UnWrapped was a huge hit with guests last year, and it looks to be even a more impressive show this year.
Also announced for Gaylord Palms is that they are replacing the huge 54 foot Christmas tree with one that is 60 feet tall! It also will be programmable with lights and music, and there will be a curtain of lights behind it. The tree has always been gorgeous, but this will be a huge step up.
The lighting will change, which will be really nice.
I can’t wait for the ice slides!
The On the Blocks Ice Bar will be back inside ICE! We sampled a couple of drinks.
This is one of the most anticipated themes ever for me, since Charlie Brown was such a big part of my childhood.
