The Epcot International Festival of the Arts Taking Shape: Festival Runs Weekends January 13 – February 20, 2017
Hi everyone!
Epcot is now almost a year-round festival park, debuting the Epcot International Festival of the Arts for 2017 in addition to its yearly celebrations that include the Epcot Flower & Garden Festival and the Epcot Food & Wine Festival. The new event runs on weekends (Friday through Monday) from January 13th – February 20th, 2017 and includes the Disney on Broadway Concert Series; Figment’s Brush with the Masters Scavenger Hunt; chalk art; workshops and seminars with visiting artists and more. Here is a look around World Showcase at the signage and some food booths that are part of the Festival and more information. We do expect to be there for opening day. The event has some elements of the Festival of the Masters that used to take place at Downtown Disney (now Disney Springs).
The upcoming International Epcot Flower and Garden Festival kicks off on March 2nd, 2017 (this will be our 10th year covering it for the site!), and flowers and topiaries start “springing up” in the month or so prior to that festival. It will be fun to see that take shape during the new festival.

Just as with all the other festivals and celebrations throughout the year, there is a focus on food during the Epcot International Festival of the Arts. Guests can also purchase dining packages for the Disney on Broadway Concert Series (the first weekend features Ashley Brown and Josh Strickland performing songs from Disney’s Beauty and the Beast, Tarzan, Mary Poppins and The Little Mermaid).
Walking around World Showcase, one of the food booths is not far from Canada.
At the America pavilion, the Christmas tree was still up.
Guests will recognize this food booth in the America pavilion which often serves smoked items during festivals.
This booth was still serving Mexican food for the holidays, but is also getting ready for the festival.
It will be interesting to see how the Epcot International Festival of the Arts pans out. I look forward to Figment’s Brush with the Masters Scavenger Hunt, even though I don’t know if it will be similar to the scavenger hunts during the Epcot Food & Wine Festival and Epcot Flower & Garden Festival. Disney says about this hunt, “Can you find Figment? Slip into sleuth mode while searching for clues that lead to the elusive little dragon—leave no painting in the World Showcase unturned!”
