Hi everyone! Amazon has extended its $5 off $15 book offer again, with code BOOKGIFT17. The offer expires at 11:59 p.m. (PT) December 21st, 2017.It is also good only for books sold by Amazon, not third parties and only for hard copies of books, not digital. I have a list of some favorite books from this year here and some other recommendations.  Yesterday’s Tomorrow: Disney’s Magical Mid-Century and Ink & Paint: The Women of Walt Disney’s Animation are two that top the list, but these aren’t in exact order. I added in Birnbaum’s 2018 Walt Disney World – not because it’s my favorite Disney park guidebook, but more for the amount of WDW coupons in it. And I added a few upcoming books and some I haven’t read yet.

Yesterday’s Tomorrow: Disney’s Magical Mid-Century – this is a unique book that has been a popular one for the theme, plus Don Hahn is an excellent author. Click to my review.

Ink & Paint: The Women of Walt Disney’s Animation – This is a massive book, larger than you’d expect. It is also an excellent read, and not just about women or Ink & Paint, but a book that touches on other Disney history as well. My review is here.

Eat Like Walt: The Wonderful World of Disney Food – this is one of my favorite books of 2017, it looks like it’d be more of a cookbook but it isn’t. It is a history book with a handful of recipes, and some fantastic rare photos. Review here.

They Drew as They Pleased Vol. 3: The Hidden Art of Disney’s Late Golden Age (The 1940s – Part Two) – I can’t recommend this one more highly, I learned a lot about Disney history this year with so many different books! My review is here.

Tale as Old as Time: The Art and Making of Disney Beauty and the Beast (Updated Edition): Inside Stories from the Animated Classic to the New Live-action Film – This is not a new book but was updated for 2017. Review here.

Oswald the Lucky Rabbit: The Search for the Lost Disney Cartoons  – The origins of Oswald until today, very well researched. My review is here.

Star Wars: The Last Jedi Chewie and the Porgs – this just came out on December 15th.

The Art of Coco – the movie is now out, here is my review! “The Art of” Disney books from Chronicle have been favorites of mine through the years.

Birnbaum’s 2018 Walt Disney World: The Official Guide (Birnbaum Guides) – It isn’t the most comprehensive guide book, it is the official one and I would buy another for the coupons I would use. Review here.

SHAG: The Collected Works – I haven’t read this one, but it’s SHAG and it’s on the top of my list to purchase.

The Lion King (Celebrating The Lion King’s 20th Anniversary on Broadway): Twenty Years on Broadway and Around the World (A Disney Theatrical Souvenir Book) – I will have a book review on this one soon.

The Lion King: Pride Rock on Broadway – I will have a review on this one soon as well.

Walt Disney’s Ultimate Inventor: The Genius of Ub Iwerks  – This arrives in 2018, and I have already been looking forward to it for months.

Travels with Walt Disney: A Photographic Voyage Around the World – One of my most looked forward books of 2018.

The Art of Star Wars: The Last Jedi – this book is now out.

For kids:

Coco Read-Along Storybook and CD – the kids book and CD combos are favorites of mine too, inexpensive and with the original voices and a CD. Here is my review.

DuckTales: Woo-oo! Read-Along Storybook and CD – this one isn’t out yet, but I am looking forward to it.
