Christmas Merchandise Preview at Walt Disney World Including Resort Ornaments and Dooney & Bourke
Hi everyone!
We were invited to a Christmas in July event yesterday at Walt Disney World, which consisted of a number of different elements – we previewed a combination of the Disney’s Yuletide Fantasy and Disney’s Holiday D-Lights tours by Adventures by Disney; learned about upcoming holiday events at the parks and Disney Springs; and I spoke with Merchandise Communications Manager Steven Miller about upcoming merchandise. I will have several articles in upcoming days – first up is merchandise. This is just a drop in the bucket of what will be available this year for guests to purchase!
First up, here is our video, I asked Steven Miller to talk about what he brought to the event.
This was my favorite item on the table, an ornament that lights up for Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort. This is the resort I grew up with in the 70s and 80s and is still a favorite of mine. I can’t wait until this is available to buy!
This Mickey and Minnie ornament is available now at Disney’s Contemporary Resort, and is inspired by Mary Blair.
A teacup ornament for Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort is next to it.
I like that there are so many unique ornaments for the resorts.
Up next is a Dooney & Bourke – Steven Miller called the theme of the merchandise this year “Nordic Winter”, including this bag. The Chip and Dale plush is sold separately.
Here is a look at the design.
Here is a look at one end of the table.
The “Light up the Holiday” hat with antlers is fun too.
Here are some of the pins that will be available.
Dishware includes plates, bowls and mugs.
Mickey and Minnie on a reindeer.
Pluto and Mickey.
The items are nicely boxed.
Mickey and Minnie Christmas cards.
There will be much more merchandise than this coming to Walt Disney World as the holidays get closer. Halloween begins in about 4 weeks with the kickoff of Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party on August 17th, 2018 and then it’s time for Christmas and the holiday season in November! I will be talking more about that in the next article.
