Toy Story Land Themed Domino Display with 30,000 Pieces Includes Incredible Topple!

Hi everyone!

Disney continues the celebration going for Toy Story Land at Disney’s Hollywood Studios! Walt Disney World Resort created an amazing (really!) Toy Story Land-inspired maze of dominoes featuring more than 30,000 pieces – designed by talented 19-year-old professional domino artist, Lily Hevesh. Disney states, The structure brought everyone’s favorite Toy Story visuals to life as the colorful dominoes toppled down in a chain-reaction inside the Arena at ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex, allowing park visitors and dreamers to “play big” during this one-of-a-kind experience.

I know from experience that I can’t put 5 dominoes up and not have them fall, and this Toy Story Land domino version has so many twists and turns, setting off a chain reaction along the way – like lighting up Buzz Lightyear and unveiling small billboards. It is worth your time to watch!

Besides Havesh, Disney Cast Members also helped with the project. Disney says about it, the larger than life topple was put into action by the iconic Pixar ball and starred Toy Story characters such as Buzz Lightyear, Slinky Dog and the beloved Space Aliens, along with classic toys such as a Crayola Markers and Etch-A-Sketches.

Some fun facts:

  • 5 people working on the project
  • 175 hours spent constructing the intricate domino display (for 5 days total!)
  • 220 seconds it took for the dominoes to come toppling down
  • 768 square footage covered for the domino build in Toy Story Land
  • 32,000 exact number of dominoes used in the stunt

What a fun video, Lily Havesh put together a fantastic piece of art with this domino maze!
