Multiple Uncovered Disney Skyliner Gondolas Testing at Disney’s Hollywood Studios (Photos, Video)

Hi everyone!

Until now, we’ve only seen mostly covered (and one uncovered) Disney Skyliner gondolas testing at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. The gondolas often test now, keeping a swifter speed than I originally would have expected. When finished, the Disney Skyliner system will link Disney’s Hollywood Studios, Epcot International Gateway, Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort, Disney’s Riviera Resort (opening December 2019) and there will be a station serving Disney’s Art of Animation and Disney’s Pop Century Resorts. Currently the only date given for opening is fall.  I do get asked questions whenever I post information on the Disney Skyliner, including whether they will have air conditioning (no) and whether they will be wheelchair accessible (yes).

Here is our video and then a few photos from yesterday.

I was asked about how long it took to make the round-trip from Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort and from the photo time stamps, it seemed around 8-9 minutes yesterday. The trip should be really quick to get over there. Another question I had was whether decals would be added with characters later. Characters are already on many gondolas, those just aren’t uncovered yet. You can see them through the covering, though not always that well.
Here are some of the characters you will find on the Disney Skyliner. Disney says on the Disney Parks Blog of the character gondolas, So for example, you may jump into a gondola where from the ground it will look like Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Pluto or Chip & Dale are riding along with you. Several Disney animated films will be represented, including “Beauty & the Beast,” “Frozen,” “Lilo & Stitch,” “Moana,” “Peter Pan,” “The Princess and the Frog,” “Ralph Breaks the Internet,” “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs” and “Zootopia.”
The gondolas have numbers on them.

Here is a look at the six uncovered gondolas on the way to Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort.
We will share more of the Disney Skyliner in the near future.

Are you looking forward to riding?
