Yesterday morning, an eland at Disney’s Animal Kingdom park gave birth to a healthy calf. Born as hurricane Dorian passed us by, the calf is named Doppler and it is not yet known if its a boy or girl. Doppler has already taken its first steps! The calf was born as part of a species survival plan in partnership with the Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA). We should see Doppler and its mom out on the savanna in a few weeks or so, they are bonding backstage until then. See more photos of the calf on the Disney Parks Blog. We should know more soon on Doppler, including gender.
We look forward to being out and about at Disney’s Animal Kingdom park today and in a few weeks to see Doppler!
