Epcot Construction Update from December 20th, 2019 Including Front Entrance Planters & Moana Art on Wall
Hi everyone!
We were at Epcot yesterday and took photos of some of the changes since our last visit! I am looking forward to seeing the updated Epcot as it is revealed over the next couple of years. We started with a monorail ride through Future World and then I took some photos while walking to the Disney Skyliner at the International Gateway.

Here is our video first and then photos!
From the monorail, we could see planters including the center planter. It is nice to have this area open again.
The fountain is behind walls.
There is a lot of work going on in Future World since we last took the monorail around. And our last few visits to Epcot have been in the evening, not seeing as much of what is going on. Here are photos from around the monorail loop, including the former Communicore/Innoventions West area. You can see there is work in many different locations here now.
It’s going to be a couple of years before everything is probably finished. A lot is happening at once but that means it helps get it finished faster. I have been visiting Epcot since it opened in 1982 and I’m looking forward to most of the changes coming.
Below is artwork on the wall for the Moana “Journey of Water” attraction.
And heading to the Epcot station, we pass by Spaceship Earth.
The fountain construction can be seen from this side.
And the planters.
Here is a look at the front entrance. I am very happy to see the center planter revealed again, it makes for a welcoming entrance to the park.
We were at Disney’s Hollywood Studios for much of the day and so we didn’t walk all over Epcot – but we did walk from here through the right half of World Showcase.
What is left of the former Communicore/Innoventions West is to the right.
And new is this large-print signage for guests. With all the work going on, this is a nice addition to the walls. Most of Epcot is business as usual while the transformation is taking place.
Attractions open to the right.
And to the left. If you haven’t been to The Epcot Experience, I recommend it to see what Epcot will be in the future!
The new symbols for Epcot can be seen on the signage too.
There are some kiosks now in Future World (not yet in use).
The monorail heads past the Imagination pavilion.

Artwork for the Epcot transformation is on this wall.
I stopped for some Christmas/holiday photos as well. Goofy, Donald, Chip and Dale join the Snowman here.
Dale.
Mickey, Minnie and Pluto are on this side.
The new Starbucks location was supposed to open but hadn’t yet.
And the new restrooms were not yet open but opened today.
Canada Far & Wide is coming to World Showcase as one of three new film experiences at Epcot next month! I’ve already seen the Beauty and the Beast Sing-Along, which will open in France and alternate with Impressions de France.
The restrooms to World Showplace have been open, and it is the best place to stop if you are at Epcot during the holidays. Plus there were benches yesterday and nobody using them.
And I already did a France pavilion from Skyliner update a few days back so I took just a handful of photos this time to post.
The expanded France pavilion will open in summer 2020, with Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure as well as La Crêperie de Paris.
The Disney Skyliner is a very relaxing ride, I try to hop on it anytime I can. Scrooge McDuck was ahead of us.
We plan to head back to Epcot on Christmas Day! I will post more photos after that visit. Every day brings changes!
