Looking Back at Easter 2010 Magic Kingdom Pre-Parade, Epcot Egg Hunt

Hi everyone!

The Magic Kingdom Easter Pre-Parade ran for over 10 years prior to the closure last year and I thought I’d revisit the first year we saw it, 2010. I think it did run in 2009 and there used to be a regular Easter parade years prior to that. The Magic Kingdom Easter Pre-Parade changed quite a bit over the ten years we photographed it (and I look forward to doing so again, hopefully next year it will be back). Here are pictures from 2010, I also added in a few Epcot pictures.

The Citizens of Main Street were a big part of the Easter Pre-Parade.

The Mayor of Main Street was also there and in the parade.

Guests lined up along the parade route.

Here is our video from 2010.

The banner included Mickey and Minnie and said “Happy Easter from the Magic Kingdom”.

Mr. and Mrs. Easter Bunny were behind the Cast Members holding the banner.

The Mayor of Main Street U.S.A. walked by.

Mr. Easter Bunny tips his hat.

The gazebo float – which is still in use each day – included more characters for Easter than I’ve generally seen. White Rabbit, Thumper, Miss Bunny, Chicken Little, Abby Mallard and Rabbit. We don’t see Chicken Little and Abby Mallard too often but they were out a couple of years ago together as part of a weekly rare character meet and greet.

Up close on Abby Mallard.

Daisy has a different costume than current years. She now wears an Azalea Trail Maid dress.

Each year the Azalea Trail Maids have been in the Easter Pre-Parade. They are a group of 50 high school seniors from Mobile, Alabama.

The Azalea Trail Maid costumes are really colorful. Cinderella Castle looks so different here than what it looks like now.

We ran to Frontierland for more photos.

Rabbit and Chicken Little are seen here.

Here are more photos of the gazebo with characters.

We do have a video that includes all 10 years of Magic Kingdom Easter Pre-Parades we’ve experienced.

At Epcot, Mr. & Mrs. Easter Bunny were meeting. They met at Magic Kingdom too but the line was very long.

While on the monorail, we could see the Future World Easter Egg Hunt.

There were two locations for the hunts.

This is Future World.

Eggs were in the grass.

A smaller location was at the American Adventure pavilion. Now this area is restrooms.

We did post a 2021 article about Mr. and Mrs. Easter Bunny at the Magic Kingdom. I don’t know if anything else will happen at the parks for Easter this year but we will see tomorrow! There are no full parades at the Magic Kingdom yet – right now only cavalcades – so there wouldn’t be a pre-parade this year.
