Epcot “Disney Fab 50” golden character sculptures appeared yesterday at Epcot as part of “The World’s Most Magical Celebration” celebrating the 50th Anniversary of Walt Disney World. The kickoff of the 18-month long event is October 1st, 2021 and there are 50 character sculptures/statues that are being added to the parks. Here is a look at the Epcot characters from yesterday!
Pua and Hei Hei are among the characters that you can find between the two World Showcase shops at World Showcase Plaza.
These are the first character sculptures we have personally seen (we were at Disneyland for over a week and still have to make it to the other parks). Pua and Hei Hei are really cute here!
Here is a view from the side.
Olaf is with Bruni nearby.
A 50th Anniversary banner is in view.
Bruni is so small but still beautifully detailed.
The statues are a little bigger in person than I expected.
Rocket appears with baby Groot on his shoulder.
All of the character statues are beautifully designed.
Here are a couple of close-up side shots.
Miguel and Dante from “Coco” are next.
Here is a look from the side.
Miguel is playing his guitar.
Even the details like his shoelaces are nicely sculpted.
The last Epcot statue displayed is Figment.
Figment holds his arms up.
His foot is in the air.
Monorails pass by him, giving a nice photo opportunity.
We will have sculptures from the Magic Kingdom and other parks in the coming days!
