Orbitron at Disneyland Paris to Reopen December 17th, 2021 After Major Refurbishment

The Orbitron – Machines Volantes attraction at Disneyland Paris is nearing the end of a major refurbishment and is scheduled to reopen December 17th, 2021. Disneyland Paris shared this video of Imagineer David Goebel talking about the work that has been done on the Discoveryland icon.

This is the first major renovation for Orbitron since Disneyland Paris – and the attraction – opened in 1992. The Orbitron was fully dismantled for this renovation, down to the foundation. The elements were “cleaned, repaired and repainted” before rebuilding them back. A new shelter was also added for Cast Members and rocks were repainted and the floor redone. The lighting was redesigned both to reduce energy consumption and to create a “dynamic atmosphere”.

The Orbitron should look great when finished next month!
