Book Review: “Space Mountain” Little Golden Book

Hi everyone!

Space Mountain Little Golden Book released last week, one of several Disney theme park Little Golden Books releasing this month. The book is also included in the Disney Parks Little Golden Book Library that is scheduled to release in April. As with other Little Golden Book titles, Space Mountain Little Golden Book is 24 pages.

From the publisher on the 24-page book:

Blast off on an epic space adventure in this new Little Golden Book-inspired by the popular Disney Parks Attraction Space Mountain!

Fly through space, swerve around asteroids, and discover the universe in this book inspired by the iconic Disney Park Attraction Space Mountain. Perfect for children ages 2 to 5 and Disney fans of all ages, this Little Golden Book is a great way to celebrate National Astronaut Day with your little space explorer!

My review:

Space Mountain Little Golden Book is a nicely illustrated book that begins with the family entering Space Mountain while the dad skips the roller coaster to ride the People Mover. While on Space Mountain, the family notes that one planet looks like a cookie (which I’ve always thought while riding Space Mountain or viewing from the PeopleMover). The book is a stylized look at a ride on Space Mountain, an attraction that I have enjoyed for over 40 years. Young Disney fans should enjoy it and I bought it for our collection as well.

Space Mountain Little Golden Book is by Nicole Johnson with illustrations by Mike Wall and designed by Winnie Ho.
