Space Mountain Celebrates 50 Years at Walt Disney World with Fireworks Moment

Hi everyone!

Space Mountain celebrates 50 years at Walt Disney World today! Disney shares these official photos and video that feature a fireworks moment including Mickey, Minnie, Pluto, Goofy, astronaut Donald Duck as well as Walt Disney World Ambassadors Serena Arvizu and Shannon Smith-Conrad. Space Mountain lit up gold for the moment. Disney also has shared a few historical images.

In the video, Josh Gad and Ginger Zee also talk about their Space Mountain memories, as does Walt Disney World President Jeff Vahle and actor Sofia Carson.

Disney has shared photos from the event, as well as the three historic images. Jeff and I have both been riding Space Mountain since the 1970s at the Magic Kingdom. My first year would have been 1977. I used to get to the park early to ride 2-3 times before the line became long.

Astronaut Donald Duck joined Pluto, Mickey, Minnie, Goofy and Walt Disney World Ambassadors Serena Arvizu and Shannon Smith-Conrad for the fireworks moment.
