Stormalong Bay Refurbishment Photo Update – Early March 2025
Hi everyone!
This is our newest Stormalong Bay refurbishment photo update, with about 25 photos taken over the last few days at Disney’s Yacht Club & Beach Club Resorts. The very popular Walt Disney World pool complex has been closed since early to mid January, and is still scheduled to be closed through sometime in June.
It has been about 2 weeks since our last Stormalong Bay update, and now there is almost no water to be seen in any of the complex.
Here are photos of the refurbishment!
While there are trees along most of the main walkway fence, you can still see the sand that is piled up.
Here are views from Disney’s Yacht Club Resort.
Disney says about the Stormalong Bay refurbishment, From January 2025 through June 2025, Stormalong Bay and Shipwreck Pool at Disney’s Yacht and Beach Club Resorts will be closed for routine maintenance. Guests may see or hear construction work during daytime hours. During this time, Guests are welcome to swim at the Tidal, Admiral and Dunes Cove leisure pools.
A pile of sand can be seen here.
Stormalong Bay is a 3-acre pool complex that has always been thought of as the best pool area at a Walt Disney World owned resort since Disney’s Yacht Club and Disney’s Beach Club opened in late 1990. The resort also boasts a 230-foot-long shipwreck replica water slide, one of the highest hotel slides at Walt Disney World (which is currently closed as well).
The familiar windmill can be seen here to the left.
Workers were around the complex when I visited.

I will be back again soon to get more photos of the refurbishment, and maybe some video too during our next visit.
