Disney Park and Resort Photo Updates

Disney’s Riviera Resort & Disney Skyliner at Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort Update – April 2019

Hi everyone!

We stopped at Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort today to check out the changes at both the Disney Skyliner and Disney’s Riviera Resort. Disney’s Riviera Resort will open December 16th, 2019, about 5 months after the Gran Destino Tower at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort opens. While they are being built at the same time, the difference here is that this will be a whole new resort and will also be a DVC resort. You can find more information here at the Disney Vacation Club website.

Here is our video of Disney’s Riviera Resort yesterday and then photos of the Disney Skyliner stations and resort construction!

Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort has undergone a lot of other changes recently, including a new lobby.

Here is the Disney Skyliner station at Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort. It is huge and not yet finished.

Here are a few photos of the station.

One gondola was uncovered. We’ve seen 7 uncovered gondolas in a row at Disney’s Hollywood Studios and Disney has said that more will be in May (including character gondolas).

Gondolas in the station.

Now we are heading over to Disney’s Riviera Resort construction. You can see the large building beyond the Fuentes del Morro Pool.

Zooming in a little.

I am walking towards it, and will have closer photos below.

The Disney Skyliner towers run to Disney’s Riviera Resort.

View from the walkway next to the pool.

The Disney Skyliner Station here looks very different than the one at Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort just a walk away.

There will be rooftop dining at Topolino’s Terrace, both in the evening and character dining.

The resort will have 300 rooms/villas in various configurations.

Disney says of the resort that it will capture the magic of Europe.

Here are more photos of the construction.

This looks like it may be a pool slide. Disney says of the larger Mediterranean inspired pool that it comes “complete with its own pool slide that winds around a stately column tower.” More info on this pool area from Disney, “Little mademoiselles and messieurs can even enjoy S’il Vous Play, an interactive water play area for kids that’s inspired by the grand European public fountains—and featuring a ballet of friendly Fantasia characters.”

This is what the front of the resort will look like in concept art.

It’s about 8 months until the resort opens! Disney’s Riviera Resort will be the 15th Disney Vacation Club Resort. We will stop back next month for another update.
