Capa Steakhouse at Four Seasons Resort Orlando Review: A Night to Remember in an Unforgettable Setting

Capa is now officially open at the Four Seasons Resort Orlando! We had a chance to preview this new Spanish steakhouse just a few days before it opened. Sitting high on the 17th floor of the Four Seasons Resort Orlando with views that include Spaceship Earth, Cinderella Castle and the Tower of Terror, Capa is an experience to remember in an unforgettable setting.
The name Capa refers to the red cape a bullfighter wears while fighting. This theme is interwoven throughout the design of the restaurant. Capa is open for dinner only, both the dining room and the bar. According to the Four Seasons press release, the menu and setting of Capa is inspired by the Basque culture, an area of northwest Spain and southwest France.
We had a variety of tapas items on the terrace to begin with. They included Croquetas – ham croquettes with Guindilla pepper; Patatas Bravas – potato, paprika, black garlic (they are also referred to as “Capa tots”); and Pan con Tomato – bread and tomato.
Tater tots always make a popular appetizer, no matter how they are prepared. I learned that I like paprika with potatoes, it makes for an interesting combination!
The Pan con Tomato looks like a crispy bruschetta, but it was soft and absorbed the flavor like a sponge.
The signature Capa GinTonic features Carounn gin, Fever-Tree Mediterranean tonic and striking botanicals of green apple, key lime, juniper berries and edible marigolds. We found each of the signature drinks we tried to have a unique twist to them.
We did use a zoom lens for several of these shots – but the view from the terrace is expansive and allows a look at numerous park icons. Fireworks from Epcot and the Magic Kingdom can be viewed from here! Disney’s Hollywood Studios sometimes has fireworks displays (like during Frozen Summer Fun), and those would be viewable too.
Tower of Terror and the Swan Hotel can be seen from here, and even a little more with the zoom – like Disney’s Boardwalk Resort and the Earful Tower.
Cinderella Castle is flanked by Disney’s Contemporary Resort (main building) and the Bay Lake Tower.
It looks like Spaceship Earth is about to drop into my sangria! The drinks here at Capa tasted different than other versions I’ve had. The sangria even has a hint of cinnamon.
I recommend being here for sunset.
This is a special place to enjoy drinks and a meal, we enjoyed the terrace immensely. There are also some tables outside (we will show those later). The outdoor tables need to be requested, and there are not a lot of them. The inside space includes 122 seats, and there are 31 outside.
The Four Seasons Resort Orlando offers a very large recreational area for guests. With just 443 rooms, it should never feel too crowded in the pools and lazy river that are surrounded by woodlands.
The lighting at Capa enhances the feel of an intimate restaurant.
Some tables offer a window.
Matador costumes are displayed, adding to the bullfighting theme.
The gorgeous fixture above the center of the dining room resembles the flowing cape (capa) of a matador. It really stands out once the sun sets. It was created by Peter Genetenaar of the Netherlands.
This elegant fixture really showcases the movement of the cape as an art form.
There is an open kitchen, and food was being made quickly and expertly.
I mentioned the tables outside – here they are. This is where I would want to sit on a perfect night like we had!
When it was time for us to go inside for dinner, it was hard to pull away. The view and sunsets here are stunning.
We were given many small courses to split among our group, to have a chance to try a number of items. The food at Capa is inspired by authentic Spanish style dishes, but the chefs often put a modern twist on them. There is a children’s menu that includes mac ‘n cheese and a petite filet mignon.
These are two Crudos dishes, Atun – tuna, olive and kohlrabi.
This is the Hamachi with clementine and horseradish. – I don’t eat fish usually, but this was very light (not a heavy fish taste) and soaked up the citrus flavor. I went back for a second piece.
This dish is Remolacha. There were many items on our menu that I don’t eat regularly, including beets. But the buttermilk really enhances the beets, and I’ve learned over the past few years that preparation makes such a difference in items I usually wouldn’t ever think to order. This is a dish I’d choose in the future.
This is the Rabano, which is radishes with yogurt and pomegranate.
Gambas – prawns with chili and romesco.
This dish still makes my mouth water! Crispy pork belly with what is like an apple butter – this is called Cerdo. The pork belly is crisp and absolutely delicious.
Next up was the Paella, with calasparra rice, mussels, clams, chorizo and peas – very tasty and fresh.
We split the Porterhouse with pickled peppers and salsa verde. This was brought out rare, while I generally go for medium – but it was so soft and tender, a very exquisite cut of meat.
Everyone at our table raved over this steak, I am sure that any other cut that Capa offers would be just as delicious.
The Potatos – mashed potatoes with brown butter – weren’t too out of the ordinary, but they complimented the meat perfectly.
We also had a side of Acelgas – Swiss chard with pine nut and raisin.
We split 3 desserts. the first was Churros de Madrid. While I enjoyed the churros, it was the dipping chocolates that really drew my attention. A lot of the chocolate was left after the churros were gone, but not for long!
Other desserts included a chocolate cake and ice cream – check out the presentation on it!
While we missed our time to watch Illuminations, we did head out for HalloWishes at the Magic Kingdom. Unlike regular Wishes, this is the Halloween version and includes peripheral fireworks. It was a wonderful place to watch from! During Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party, there are 180 degree fireworks as well – I highly recommend visiting on a Party night, and seeing these special fireworks from Capa!
We enjoyed our experience at Capa.
There is a bar here as well, with a mural of a bull and a matador created from antique Spanish coins.
This was our third or fourth visit to the Four Seasons Resort Orlando, and we always enjoy this Hidden Mickey in the lobby!

Capa Bar is open from 5:00 to 11:00 pm and Capa restaurant is open from 6:00 to 10:00 pm seven days a week.
We’ve now dined at several of the restaurants at the Four Seasons Resort Orlando (both invited and on our own). Each has their own unique flavor, but Capa is the place to go for a romantic night out. Allow for plenty of time to watch the sunset and enjoy the fireworks.
