New 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea Tribute in New Fantasyland; Seven Dwarfs Mine Train Photos

Hi everyone!

While at the Magic Kingdom a couple of days ago for Limited Time Magic, we walked around New Fantasyland and found a new tribute to 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea! I have a few photos of the construction at the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train too, though both windows were blocked in certain directions by construction items (a propped wire fence and an open box).

While walking around the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train construction, we noticed the new Disney Vacation Club signage behind a wall. I tend to look at themed weather vanes quite a bit, especially new ones – and pointed it out to Jeff. He recognized it immediately as the squid from 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea.

This is the second tribute to the 20,000 Leagues attraction that we know of in New Fantasyland, the other being the submarine in the queue of Under the Sea: Journey of the Little Mermaid.

The Mickey head made of globes above the Disney Vacation Club sign has a steampunk look to it.

Here are a few photos of the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train construction! We look forward to it opening next year!

Back in September, we took some photos and video of a Mine Train car on the track. Here is the video:

And one of my favorite views in the Magic Kingdom, the sea serpent (or sea dragon) topiary.

It’s always nice to see tributes to former attractions (and construction on new ones).
