Walt Disney World 24 Hour “Rock Your Disney Side” Party in Photos & Video

Hi everyone!

The “Rock Your Disney Side” 24 hour party at the Magic Kingdom is over, but we have photos and video from the event! We had a great time, Jeff arriving at 5:00 a.m. in the morning for 6 hours, and then both of us spending the overnight hours. Enjoy the 100 photos and 11 embedded videos that will take you on a journey of the day.

Mickey and Donald arrived in their pajamas to help kick off the event.

A train full of Heroes and Villain Disney characters stopped for the opening ceremony.

Here is the full opening ceremony!

Dopey was there to shoot a promo.

Guests could choose from numerous special treats, including the Orange Bird and Olaf candy apples.

Heroes and Villains cupcakes.

A sign let guests know that they could see Anna and Elsa in the Festival of Fantasy Parade (if not seeing them in person).

Hercules was part of the “Move It! Shake It! Celebrate It!” Street Party.

Jeff recorded the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train over three rides. Thanks to Matt from Attractions Magazine for the photo!

Jeff put together a video that combined all three rides, along with the queue. And it’s fun to see the costumes guests were wearing!

There was a special times guide and Maleficent button.

Jeff purchased the “Heroes & Villains” shirt for us.

At night, we arrived just before Wishes. I like seeing the fireworks from the opposite side of the Main Street train station, this was our view.

We immediately stood in line for the Fastpass+ section to watch the “It’s Good to be Bad Villainous Celebration” that ran before the Main Street Electrical Parade. “Celebrate the Magic!” played ahead of it, but they didn’t let us into the Fastpass+ area until after that. Elsa still gets a lot of Instagram views & likes, even after many months.

The “It’s Good to Be Bad” Villainous Celebration was very fast. The characters nearly flew by us, and we knew we’d need a second viewing. There were some great, rare characters. Megara and Hades; Oogie Boogie and Bowler Hat Guy; and Maleficent with the Evil Queen were part of the procession. These photos are from both parades.

Here is our video of the pre-parade.

We stopped at this Tomorrowland clock, and Jeff pointed to the time (nearly 1:30).

We were able to meet Maleficent, the one who looks like Angelina Jolie. She was terrific!

I was able to hold myself up for a photo, my ankle is still healing from the fracture over a month ago.

Jeff did a great job with the Maleficent meet and greet video.

There were many guests dressed as “Frozen” characters!

We had a Fastpass+ reservation for Anna and Elsa.

This was the longest we’ve ever waited for anything with a Fastpass+ reservation, about one hour.

This must be the most photographed sign now!

240 minute stand-by wait. We talked with guests in line who had waited 5 hours to meet Anna and Elsa.

Anna talked about Maleficent, among other things.

A friend had her signed Vinylmation disappear from a hotel room, so she bought a new one and we took it around for character signatures. We have had a lot of questions on where to get the Vinylmation, she purchased it at D-Street.

This was our second time meeting Anna & Elsa in Princess Fairtyale Hall, I think our fourth now on Walt Disney World property!

Here is our meet and greet video.

Rapunzel and Flynn Rider signed the Vinymation.

Flynn Rider isn’t usually greeting guests, so it was definitely worth the one hour wait!

We met a couple of rare characters, the first was Stromboli from “Pinocchio”. He was quite animated!

Check out our video of Stromboli!

A half moon could be seen over Prince Eric’s Castle.

Megara and Hades had a 3 hour wait. We were in line for Anna & Elsa and didn’t make it in time.

We do have a video of Hades with Megara.

Guests who needed a rest did so in Tomorrowland.

Nearby, we met Bowler Hat Guy from “Meet the Robinsons”.

There was a dance party in front of Cinderella Castle.

Goofy took to the dance floor in his pajamas!

Daisy also was shaking a tail feather.

Jeff took a selfie with Goofy.

This was after 5:00 a.m., not long before sunrise set in.

Walt and Mickey say goodbye to the night.

“Frozen” cupcakes were available at Starbucks.

Apparently there had been a line all night, but it was pretty empty at this point.

It was time to say goodnight with the characters! Donald, Mickey, Minnie, Chip, Dale and Goofy all showed up in their pajamas.

The clock struck 6:00 a.m as dawn broke.

It is always amazing to see how quickly a night sky turns to day.

Jeff enjoys some coffee.

A side view of Walt, with a last look at the moon.

Not many guests were left around 6:30 a.m.

We took a few last photos of the “Rock Your Disney Side” sign (and ourselves).

We were approached by Kevin from Germany, he watches our videos. His Hans costume was awesome!

Here comes the sun….

A monorail passes by the sun as it rises.

We will be talking about our experience at the Rock Your Disney Side 24 hour event on Mousesteps Weekly #102!
