Magic Kingdom Photo Update Including Hub Progress and Tomorrowland Arcade Closure

We stopped by the Magic Kingdom yesterday for a few hours, it has been gorgeous the last few days for visiting the parks. The Mickey floral out front is in Mardi Gras colors, with a new fence to keep guests out of the grass.

The Harmony Barber Shop will be undergoing a refurbishment from February 16th through the end of March. I was able to get my hair cut without much wait, likely due to guests not realizing the original February 1st closing date was changed.

We even had some Streetmosphere while in the barber shop.

Here is our video of the Harmony Barber Shop, but it will be laid out differently when it opens at the end of March.

A Cast Member holds two large Stitch plush figures.

The hub refurbishment looks nearly done in the Crystal Palace area. It is interesting that the hub is what we seem to get the most questions about – more than the Sorcerer’s Hat, more than Disney’s Polynesian Resort.

Flowers and landscaping have been added.

This fountain in the middle reminds me of one at Disney’s Port Orleans French Quarter.

I like the different plant shapes.

Lighting fixtures.

Walt and Mickey are still covered.

The crane was still up.

The hub work near the Tomorrowland Terrace looks less finished.

I am always glad to still see the sea serpent.

The arcade at Space Mountain is closed. All other arcades on Walt Disney World property are having claw machines and prize redemption counters pulled, but apparently the Tomorrowland Arcade is gone for good.
