3/14 Epcot Flower and Garden Update – Lotso, Lightning McQueen, Gardening Seminar and More

Hi everyone!

We went to Epcot yesterday to participate in the hands-on gardening seminar, which for 2011 is held daily during the Epcot Flower and Garden Festival at the former Wonders of Life pavilion (now the Festival Center). These seminars are at 11am and 2pm, 30 guests can participate in each demonstration from Monday-Thursday, and 74 each on weekend days. We also took some photos of the changes that have gone on since the opening weekend of the Epcot Flower and Garden Festival!

I have 500 photos of the Epcot Flower and Garden Festival here in 2 articles! I'll be adding one more once everything is complete, and will include some garden tour photos with it.

New, permanent stages have been constructed for the seminars by HGTV.  We were told they'd be used for other events, such as the Epcot Food and Wine Festival:

We received a recyclable bag as we entered:

Our places were set with a pot, paintbrushes and a cup of water for dipping our brushes (with the Year of a Million Dreams logo!):

Epcot gardening experts Brenda Sandberg and Scott Hulett spent about a half hour talking about "Gardening for all Generations", which explained the differences in gardening styles of different generational segments of the population.

Then we received paints in egg cartons, which we used to paint our flower pots:

We had a lot of fun painting the pots – not that I was good at it, but that isn't everything!

If you want to participate in a hands-on seminar, I suggest getting there at least an hour early.  The Greenhouse Stage is to the left when you walk into the Festival Center, and it is very popular with local guests!
