Kubo and the Two Strings Meet & Greet Debuts at Universal Orlando: Kubo, Beetle & Monkey

Hi everyone!

Kubo and the Two Strings will debut in theaters on August 19th, a combination of stop-motion and CGI (the characters are all puppets!) Kubo and the Two Strings is from LAIKA and distributed by Focus Features. To help promote the film, three of the main characters are meeting at Universal Studios Orlando. The meet and greet ends August 21st, just after the film opens.

The meet and greet is in the Universal Studios park (not Islands of Adventure).

Kubo and Monkey arrive from backstage.

In the film, Monkey is played by Charlize Theron.

Here is our video of Kudo, Monkey and Beetle.

We jumped in for a photo. There was a pretty good line for the characters considering the film is still more than a month off.

Monkey goes low to the ground.

The official sypnopsis of the film: Young Kubo’s (Art Parkinson) peaceful existence comes crashing down when he accidentally summons a vengeful spirit from the past. Now on the run, Kubo joins forces with Monkey (Charlize Theron) and Beetle (Matthew McConaughey) to unlock a secret legacy. Armed with a magical instrument, Kubo must battle the Moon King (Ralph Fiennes) and other gods and monsters to save his family and solve the mystery of his fallen father, the greatest samurai warrior the world has ever known.

Here is an official trailer for the film! We are looking forward to it when it opens on August 19th, 2016.
