7/10 Animal Kingdom’s Taste of Africa Street Party

Hi everyone!

This is our third update in as many days – following Fantasyland and the Legoland Florida Open House updates.  Animal Kingdom is testing a new "Taste of Africa" Street Party, and we have photos and video! Currently the test is set for 2 weeks, but that could be extended.

I wasn't able to make it myself to the first day, thank you to Jeff at JeffLangeDVD (the best in theme park fan DVD's) for covering it so well for Mousesteps – another friend also gave me a few pictures to add to the collection.  I was called back to a temporary job for a few weeks and it will probably be Monday before I get to Animal Kingdom myself. I can't wait, though – it looks like a fantastic time!

The Taste of Africa Street Party started with a DJ telling guests about it prior to Mickey's Jammin in the Jungle Parade – booths and a band area were set up, and the parade leads into the Street Party. The Dawa bar was set up to serve some special Party drinks.  No Disney characters were part of the Street Party the first day.
