1/10 Downtown Disney Update – Pleasure Island Demolition (Motion, Rock ‘n Roll Beach Club), AMC Theaters, Magic Kingdom
Hi everyone!
We went to Downtown Disney for a few hours today, it’s sad to see Pleasure Island clubs being torn down (but at least something is happening and they aren’t just sitting dormant!) (note on 1/12 – we now have a Magic Kingdom update with Fantasyland and the Haunted Mansion queue!)
Before the Downtown Disney photos, here is one that I took at Animal Kingdom – the Wild Africa Trek starts next week, and I haven’t seen this before on the Safari – it looks like an observation area:
We took the boat from the Marketplace to Pleasure Island (going back and forth twice today), and also walked around. The club photos are in order of when I took them from different vantage points, I saved the AMC Theater and D-Street photos for the end. You can find our video here!
I like this one with the Pleasure Island sign in the foreground:
More photos that include the demolition, as well as a Raglan Road Happy Hour sign and pictures from Fulton’s:
Back on the water:
I am not sure where these security boats were going:
Star Wars Vinylmation figures:
Lando Calrissian fell into the back of the display case:
Besides Star Wars figures, new Vinymation’s included Peter Pan, Marie, Mushu, Pete’s Dragon and more:
Kubrick Disney figures:
Tron Lightcycle:
Vinylmation ice cubes:
Sign outside D-Street for a Star Wars Vinylmation signing:
D-Street:
AMC Theaters will have Screen & Fork Theaters later this year (we were told that they’d be open towards summer):
And over at the World of Disney, I found some other 40th anniversary merchandise I’ve not seen yet:
And the pages in a “punch-out” photo album:
Tomorrow we plan to take photos and video at the Magic Kingdom, so check back Wednesday!
