Cruising

1/19/11 Disney Dream Christening Cruise – Lobby, Deck Party, Whoopi Goldberg, Inaugural Merchandise

Hi everyone!

We will be covering the Disney Dream Christening Cruise in segments all this week!  Today we have photos and video of the lobby, around the ship, of the arrival of Whoopi Goldberg, and the Sail Away deck party.

We already have photos and video from the breathtaking Christening ceremony, and you can expect coverage of different areas of the ship all this week – from the restaurants to the shows, to the kids areas and more. I'll wrap it up with an article about our experience as well. It's been a lot of fun reliving the experience, and I can't wait to go back to enjoy a full cruise!

We first went to our stateroom and then straight to lunch. I didn't take a lot of photos of the Enchanted Garden at this point, but I'll have more in a later article.  We had a couple of glitches during the first day on the ship, like our lunch server didn't become apparent until halfway through our meal. After this, we had nothing but exceptional service, the cast members were new to the ship and did a wonderful job (our assistant server Jose was especially amazing – and I hope he gets kicked up to full server in the near future!)

The fountain was beautiful, I loved the Mickey with the bow and arrow:

There are pieces of Enchanted Art scattered around the ship – it's like a big treasure hunt to find them!  We didn't make it to all areas of the Dream, but I found quite a few of these unique pieces.  I will have an article and about the Enchanted Art to share this week (one of our videos of it is here), but here is the first one I found – Bambi.  When you get close to the pictures, they come to life!  Walk back from the artwork and towards it again, you may find it changes in a different way!

Behind Guest Services, there are castles that represent each Disney park:
